Privacy Policy

SamKis Software Academy is a product of SamKis Labs, a software studio based in Saint Lucia. This policy explains what personal data we hold when you use the Academy, why we hold it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at contact@samkislabs.com.

What we collect

• Your account email. You need an account to buy a course and to track your progress. We store the email address you sign up with.
• Purchase and entitlement records. What you have bought and what that unlocks — for example a single module, an all-access subscription, or lifetime access. We do not store your card number (see Payments below).
• Learning progress. Which modules you have passed and your quiz results, so we can show your progress and issue a certificate when you finish.

We do not ask for a name, phone number, address, or date of birth to use the Academy, and we do not run a marketing mailing list.

How we use it

We use this data to give you access to what you have paid for, to save and display your progress, to issue certificates, to send you the transactional emails described below, and to keep the service secure and working. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Sign-in and passwords

You sign in with your email and a password, or with a one-time magic link we email to you. Your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) and is stored only as a secure hash — SamKis never sees your raw password.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, your card details go directly to Stripe — SamKis does not receive or store your card number. We keep a record of the purchase (what was bought, the amount, the status) so we can show your receipts and manage your access. Stripe's handling of your payment data is covered by Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Email

We send transactional email only — things like sign-in magic links, purchase receipts and confirmations. These are sent through Resend. We do not run a newsletter or marketing list, so there is nothing of that kind to unsubscribe from.

Where your data is stored

Your account, entitlement and progress data is stored in our database and hosting provider, Supabase, in a UK/EU region. Our email and payment providers (Resend and Stripe) may process the limited data described above on their own infrastructure to deliver those services.

• Supabase — database, authentication and hosting (UK/EU region).
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Resend — sending transactional email.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and its data. Email contact@samkislabs.com and we will action it. Note that if you delete your account we also remove your access and progress, and we may need to keep a minimal record of a past purchase where a payment provider or the law requires it.

Security

We take reasonable care to protect your data — access is scoped so that you can only read your own records, passwords are hashed by our auth provider, and card details never touch our servers. No online service can promise perfect security, so we do not claim it; we do commit to using established providers and sensible practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Academy changes. If we make a material change we will note it here and, where it affects you, tell you by email or on the site. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
